Affirmations are a fundamental part of the sound therapy I practice with clients. As I have found through personal experience, and scientific research has proven, daily affirmations can help change old thought patterns and beliefs.
While repeating affirmations throughout the day is effective, combining affirmations with sound and meditation can produce faster, more permanent results.
During meditation your brainwave state shifts. Your brainwaves can be classified into 4 categories:
Beta (active & engaged)
Alpha (quietly flowing thoughts)
Delta (deep sleep)
By slowing your breathing and relaxing your mind, you can move from a very active Beta brainwave state to an Alpha or even Theta brainwave state (beginning meditators usually remain in a Alpha state and more experienced meditators can shift into a Theta state).
If you make a conscious effort to quiet your mind and then introduce positive affirmations, you are in a sense clearing a path among the 50,000-80,000 thoughts you have each day. You are communicating the affirmation to your subconscious with less resistance and interference. But don't take my word for it, try it out...
I have created a 15-minute guided relaxation meditation and affirmation audio track utilizing the sounds of crystal singing bowls and tuning forks. The positive affirmation "I am Healthy, I am Happy, I Embrace who I am" is repeated for 10-minutes once you are in a relaxed meditative state.
