I had a lovely conversation with a client recently. She was voicing her frustration about the age old question, "What is the purpose of life". I told her I had read an interview with a similar question and the answer was not what you would expect.
The gentleman being interview said he thought there wasn't a purpose to life. And given that there is no set purpose, we have the freedom to choose our own purpose.
I found this perspective incredibly freeing. In this frame of mind, we no longer have to subscribe to the expectations and restrictions that society has placed on us. We are at liberty to decide our own purpose and construct our lives accordingly. Finally, an exit ramp on the never-ending rat race.
You may not agree with this approach, but it is always lovely to open our minds and expand our view.
